The Four Roses brand was created by Paul Jones Jr. in the late 19th century. The current Spanish Mission-style distillery was built in 1910 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Four Roses uniquely uses two different mash bills and five different yeast strains, creating ten distinct “recipes.” The brand was owned by Seagram’s, then Kirin Brewery (acquired 2002), which brought the brand back to strong US distribution after years when it was sold only overseas.
